Safety Policies

Fire safety:

·        Please no unattended fires in the campground. If you start a fire at your camp site please insure that is in an appropriate location and that someone there to watch it.

o       If the safety team finds a fire that is unsafe and unattended we will extinguish it.

·        Any person who is performing any fire theatrics (poi, spitting fire, etc) please insure that you have the proper safety equipment on hand and that you have a safety spotter who is able to use it.  You must also have your own insurance to cover yourself as well as anyone else who may be injured.  The festival's insurance will not cover this.

·        The main fire circle is the domain and responsibility of the Fire Wardens and in this area their word is LAW. They have the final word on any issue relating to the fire circle.

o       Do not throw anything into the fire unless instructed by the Fire Wardens.
o      
Do not attempt to alter the fire in any way unless instructed to by the Fire wardens.

Alcohol policy:

  • Any person who decides to sleep it off in a public area will be tagged with a glow stick and their location will be marked. Then they will be left where they are, unless they are in danger of being run over by a vehicle or if they are a hazard to others then they will be moved to a safe location.

Medical information:

  • If you have a medical condition that we need to be aware of please inform the personal at registration and we will flag you record in the event that any thing happens, and you require medical attention.
    • After the festival we will destroy this information.
  • Please have sufficient medication for any condition that requires it.

The wee ones:

  • Please insure that all children are properly supervised at all times.
  • If a child is unable to communicate who they are or who they are with, please include contact information on the child’s wrist band so that we can reunite children with their proper guardian.
  • In the event we find a lost child we will escort the child to the Tree Frog Lounge and begin the search for their guardian.
  • Should a parent or guardian leave their child unattended for an extended time we will feed the child espresso and then track you down.

    Weapons policy:

    • All weapons shall be secured in an appropriate manner at all times unless being used in a ritual or demonstration.
    • Any person whose weapons are used in an unsafe but benign manor will be asked to secure their weapon or put the weapon back at their camp site or secure it in their vehicle.
    • Any person whose weapons are used in an unsafe and willful manor will be required to leave the event.
    • If any person wished to use their weapons in a display of martial skill, they will be required to notify a member of the festival staff and appropriate measures will have to be taken to insure the safety of all parties involved.
    • The carrying of firearms whether concealed or open is prohibited on the camp ground.
      • This in no way prohibits the lawful carrying of a firearm by a certified law enforcement official in the execution of their duties.

     

Emergency policy:

  • In the event of an emergency please follow all festival staff instructions.
    • We will contact local law enforcement and EMS as needed.
  • In the event of a weather emergency we will provide information at the Tree Frog Lounge and by a town crier.

Festival staff:

  • The festival staff is here to insure that everyone has a good experience, please don’t hesitate to let us know what you think.
  • All staff members will be available via the family radio service (FRS).
    • We ask that FRS channels 4 and 5 be available for festival staff and that personal communication be moved to another channel.
    • If you need to speak with a staff member immediately please go to the Tree Frog Lounge there will be a radio available for summoning the appropriate staff member.
  • The Safety team will be available 24 hour a day for the entire festival and can be contacted at the Tree Frog Lounge or in person.
    • The safety staff will be wearing a white rope to identify them.
  • The safety staff will be making routine patrols throughout the camp ground the entire festival.
  • In the event that you require a non-safety staff member after hours please contact the Tree Frog Lounge and we will search for them.
  • If you are willing to volunteer a little of your time there are positions available and information can be found at registration and the Tree Frog Lounge.

Stage and entertainment area:

  • The only people who are allowed on the upper stage are individuals who have been cleared by the entrainment coordinator.
  •  As a courtesy to the musicians please do not handle or play any instruments that does not belong to you with out permission of the owner.
    • This includes drums in the drumming circle.
  • As a courtesy to the dancers do not drop or leave any item in the fire area that could injure their feet.

General campground policy:

·        Do not liter, if you have trash please insure that it gets to the proper container.

·        When leaving the festival please insure that everything you brought with you leaves with you.

·        Please minimize vehicle traffic in the camp ground during the festival.

o       If you don’t need to drive somewhere then don’t

·        Be nice to camp ground Gary he works his butt off for this festival, He may not be pagan but he is family.
