The Ritual: "The Queen's Coronation"
ALL women aren't ready to become Crones as soon as their menses cease.  The incarnation of the Queen is a time of rejuvenation for "women of a certain age" today.  We live a lot longer than we used to in the "Olde Days" and we rarely progress straight from Maiden and Mother to Crone .  In fact, many of us spend a really long time in the "no-woman's land" between Mother and Crone. I don't know about you, but I am just not ready to sit by the fire in my rocking chair YET (Will I ever be?) and I know that many of you aren't either. 

I've still got a lot to offer this world and the rest of you lovely Goddesses do too:
    1.) No matter what your age
    2.) Whether you are childless by chance or choice or if you have lots of children, physical and/or spiritual
    3.) If you are one who started the "Strange of Life" early or late
    4.) If you are full of fire: for what is the Element of Queen-dom if not fire? (Some of us have hot flashes hourly.)
    5.) Or just because you are interested or intrigued

To research this new phase of womanhood called the Queen, I recommend a great book by my mentor and the original QUEEN, Mama Donna Henes, entitled, "Queen of My Self."  Here is a great quote from her book:  "Millions of women are now entering or in the midst of midlife. With unprecedented freedom, education, longevity, and wealth, they hold positions of unheard of responsibility and stature. No longer Maidens, nor Mothers, and not yet old Crones, the question arises: Where do these dynamic, accomplished middle-aged women fit into the traditional description of the three stages of womanhood?

In "Queen of My Self," Donna Henes proposes a completely original paradigm- that of the midlife Queen, a woman in her prime who has achieved wisdom, mastery, and self-esteem- that reflects more accurately the realities and needs of women today. Henes draws on history, mythology, and literature, her own life experience, as well as stories from women in many different societies, situations and stations to provide upbeat, practical, and ceremonial inspiration for all women who want to enjoy the fruits of an influential, passionate, and powerful maturity."

After I attended classes led by Queen Mama Donna Henes at "Beltane: A Pagan Odyssey" in Connecticut, I  presented the first of my own Queen workshops at the Mountain Mysteries Beltane Festival in Stanardsville, VA the next year..  A Facebook group was formed by the original members of the class called, "The Queen: A New Face of the Goddess Evolves." The original class evolved into two classes and expanded to other festivals.  Now, new Goddess Queens join us regularly to start the adventure of their lifetime celebrating their own new role as Queen.  PLEASE join me at Mountain Mysteries Beltane Festival ~ April 29, 30 & May 1, 2011 for the introductory or the intermediate class in this series (or both!) and then come back for the ritual to also become the Queen of your own life at "The Coronation of the Queens"! I can't wait to meet you and to introduce you to the rest of your sisters!
